The drama that aired in 2007 is an action drama portraying the eventful life of an extended family: a stubborn grandma, a bluffing father, a mother with long-harbored ulterior motives concealed behind her ostensible obedience, a son who has been spoiled by his mother as the only child in the family, and a daughter-in-law who makes a hasty decision to get married. By targeting families, this drama interprets family and marriage issues in a heartwarming and hilarious way through the lives of three generations of daughters-in-law. Ji-hoon graduated from Seoul National University and has a prestigious job at the Yujin Group. Handsome, well-shaped, smart and having a well-paid job, he is an object of desire of many girls. But even he has a dilemma: his tumultuous family. Having no intention whatsoever to get married, he one day meets a cute girl named Mi-jin and ties the knot. Goddess of Marriage
A drama about four women in different stages of marriage with different values and philosophies of love and conflicts finding the true meaning and the importance of marriage through the story. Song Ji Hye (Nam Sang Mi), an assertive radio writer, dreams of an ideal love but finds herself embroiled in a love triangle between two good men, architect Kim Hyun Woo (Lee Sang Woo) and prosecutor Kang Tae Wook (Kim Ji Hoon). Hong Hye Jung (Lee Tae Ran) is a mother of two who used to work as a television announcer and is married to Tae Wook’s older brother (Kim Jung Tae) and must always maintain the refined appearances expected of a Cheongdam-dong daughter-in-law. Song Ji Sun (Jo Min Soo) is Ji Hye’s older sister and is a supermom to three kids who rule over her meek husband (Kwon Hae Hyo). Kwon Eun Hee (Jang Young Nam) also is a wife and mother who suddenly discovers that her husband (Jang Hyun Sung) is cheating on her. Song Ji Hye has been dating Tae Wook for many years but she doesn’t love him, she doesn’t seem to share any interest with him, he lies to her about being rich and also doesn’t seem to respect her opinions about anything. Lee Gwang Jae (Kim Ji Hoon) is a rich boy that inherits a huge amount of debt and struggles to pay it back to save his father’s reputation. By his side is Kim Young Ha (Kim Joo-Hyun), a dauntless girl who fully supports him. If you are looking for something lightweight or a good in-between filler drama this may be a good choice. A lovely drama that uses standard tropes but is well executed; delivering both very realistically funny and serious moments. Excellent acting, dialogue, and the overall script make this series one of the best daily dramas I have seen in a long time.
Sweet Stranger and Me
Hong Na-ri (Soo-ae) works as a flight attendant. Her mother passed away 10 months ago and she doesn’t have any other immediate family members. Hong Na-ri returns to her hometown to visit her mother’s grave. There, she sees a young man at her mother’s grave. The man, Go Nan-gil (Kim Young-kwang), introduces himself as her father. Before Hong Na-ri’s mother died, she married Go Nan-gil. He now lives at her mother’s house and runs the small dumpling restaurant that her mother ran. In this drama, Kim Ji Hoon plays the role of Jo Dong-jin who is Na-ri’s insecure boyfriend, who cheats on her with Yeo-joo. Although he is currently in a relationship with Yeo-Joo, he is still unsure about his decision to leave Hong Na-ri.
Flower Boy Next Door
This is a drama about Ko Dok-mi (Park Shin-hye) who lives peacefully in apartment #402 at Ocean Village. She rarely leaves her apartment. Since last fall, Ko Dok-mi has peeped out her apartment at her neighbor Tae-joon (Kim Jung-san), who lives across from her. Peeping at Tae-joon has become part of Ko Dok-mi’s daily routine. Her comfortable and peaceful life is shattered, when a group of handsome neighbors appears at her door. Video game designer Enrique Keum (Yoon Si-yoon) just came to Korea from Spain. He lives with Tae-joon. Oh Jin-rok (Kim Ji-hoon) lives in apartment #401 with his assistant Dong-hoon (Ko Gyung-pyo). Oh Jin-rok is a webcomic writer and begins writing his new comic by observing Ko Dok-mi. There’s also Watanabe (Kouki Mizuta), who moved next to Ko Dok-mi.
