In December 2013, SM Entertainment announced that Jaehyun officially became a member of SM Rookies. Three years later, Jaehyun joined the first unit of NCT, NCT U with Taeil, Taeyong, Doyoung, Ten, and Mark, precisely on April 4th, 2016. SM Entertainment then announced the second unit of NCT namely NCT 127 on July 1st, 2016.
